Another week, another challenge.

Just a bit of fun, but shows what can be achieved and from where.
Some great bargains last week, will this week be as good ........... or even better??

"See who can "buy" the biggest % reduction and also the biggest single item price reduction in money terms (without the use of coupons/vouchers or staff discounts)".

Got 2 x Kingsmill soft white loaves @ 2op ea, normaly 1.70
2x 4 pack Kingsmill muffins @ 20p ea, normally 90p
2x Sunripe tropical fruit salad @ 20p normally 1.70.
Wilkinsons. Bread sorted for some weeks as dont eat much.

A few things today, but limited.

Tesco:
3 x sausage and mash meals (reduced from £2.20 to 55p each) = £1.65
2 x large wood-fired veg pizzas (reduced from £4.50 to £1.13) = £2.26
Pack of pears (reduced from £1 to 35p) = 35p
Mushrooms 700g pack (reduced from £2 to 60p) = 60p

Sainsbury's
Sweet potatoes (reduced from £1.85 to 39p) = 39p

I'll not be shopping much this week, but good luck to those "bargain hunting"

Not gonna do a whoospie shop this week as pennies are tight, i'm just gonna grab the few bits i need, maybe i'll join in next week

I got a few good bits tonight.
Mince beef hotpot ready meals, down from £2.29 to 59p. I bought 2 and they are in a very good container that I can reuse.
A quiche, down from £2.20 to 49p.
A packet of ready to use egg noodles, down from £1.00 to 20p.
Coleslaw down from £1 to 14p. I got 2 as we can have them with the quiche for lunch tomorrow.
Total, £9.78 for just £2.15.

Can anyone help - I'm knew to this!
Manage to pick up the odd reduced bargain at Tesco, but struggle for anything thats not in the small fridges reduced section - where do you normally find bread / bakery reduced items ? & anything else which isn't with the usual milk / diary / meat reduced section?

Also, any ideas on the best times to pick up some of these bargains - have had a couple of good buys mid-late afternoon, then had a visit around half 7 the other night, to find everything being reduced dramatically but 3-4 people hovering until the member of staff put the items down and within a second this one man had just picked a WHOLE pile up without even looking at what was there and popped it in his trolley, whilst I'm hovering at the back feeling like it would be rude to go and have a rummage!

I had a couple of good ones at my local Tesco Extra last night

2 x 1kg of chicken legs was £3 each but down to 30p each
1 x Southern Fried Chicken Pasta Salad was £2 but down to 20p

Has to be the first decent whoopsies I've had in ages. OH was very impressed especially as there were 9 massive chicken legs all in all for 60p!

I found YS strong cheese. :j:j:j 680g of Seriously strong for £2.25. All grated and in the freezer now. I thought I might have to pay full price.
I also got 2x YS Bacon ribs for 65p, 2x YS King ribs for 75p, 2x cheese french sticks for 19p, and 5 jam doughnuts for 29p.

A Total spend of £11.45, I will add it to my total. This is the first day spent over my daily allowance but I am pleased. :T

Quick and easy tea tonight with enough left over for tomorrow
King ribs 2.50 down to 1.25 but the salad leaves were the real bargain.
Rocket 1.25 down to 13p and mixed leaves £1 down to 10p. I wouldn't normally buy ready prepared, but it would have been silly not to.

Even better that it is less work cooking wise and less fuel.
I am still using up YS 10p diced onions, I love not having to slice them. :j
