Dog owners stupidity

I seem to be the only litter etc picker around here but I honestly have a little moan but get on with it. My pet hate too is the plastic bag poo droppers...so easy in our Lane with just rustic and so they bury until the wildlife comes out to eat and it gets all dug up to the surface...not a pretty site but these people are persistant and downright causing real grief. The baby badgers right now are a wonderful site but these thoughtless people are harming more than they knowor seem to care to be honest.0

Ahh the dog poo tree! Very common around here unfortunately!
I currently do dog walking for a living, and there are rare occasions where I will leave a poo bag to pick up on the way home.... but err generally on the floor near a gate.. not in a tree!! Most of the walking I do is in very rural areas, so the dogs can go off the path, into the undergrowth to find a suitable place to poo - in which case, I just leave it!
Our local woodlands committee has a slogan - stick and flick - meaning better that you get a stick and flick your dogs poo off the path, than either leave it or hang it in a poo bag in a tree!!! As I said, dog poo tree is very common round here - !!!!!! is going through those peoples minds!???I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

People don't want to carry their dog's poop home. Once one person leaves their bag on a wall/ tree/ floor it gives others an excuse, they aren't all to know the first deposit is only temporary.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Judging by the amounts of "tree ornaments" we have in our local nature reserve, the majority of dog owners are selfish, lazy beggars who should not be allowed to own a pet.0

having 3 myself totally agree, they want the dogs but are not willing to clean up after them.the field i take mine in,has become like a dog toilet lately, people make me laugh, would they treat their gardens or homes like it i think not.:mad:Judging by the amounts of "tree ornaments" we have in our local nature reserve, the majority of dog owners are selfish, lazy beggars who should not be allowed to own a pet. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0 -
This is one of my pet hates too, one place we take the dogs has trees full of poo bags.
I admit I do sometimes leave a bag and pick it up on the way back but I don't leave them somewhere they can be seen because I know it would encourage others to leave it too. I would hide it under a bush or behind a rock and have always picked it up on the way home.
I've found where I live there are loads of public walking paths but only two of them have any bins, not just for dog poo but general litter bins. The two that have bins are relatively litter free but the others look like a landfill site. I know people should be responsible for their own litter but it wouldn't kill the councils to put bins even just one each mile on public walkways, other recreational areas have bins so they should too.0 -
Maybe they are planning ready for christmas. Get their dogs to eat some glitter and tinsel and you have a lovely festive decoration!0

Have you asked the local council to install more litter bins in these areas? They are actually quite expensive to put in and service, there might be issues with the area being 'green belt' or otherwise protected. Bring back dog licenses to pay for disposal of dog waste IMO.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I tried this as the woods near me are always full of poop bags (as mentioned above) - and poop just left on paths (another hate - at least move it where no-one will stand in it) but I can understand why people do it as it's miles from anywhere - the nearest bin is 5 miles by car and, believe me, it's not nice driving back with filled bags!
It gets terrible in summer as there's loads of people comes on hols - and better in the winter when there are relatively few of us walking in them.
I did ask the Council if they could install a bin at the gate where you go in - the answer was that it's cheaper to send a couple of people to do a "clear up" (poop and bags) every so often, than have a bin that needs to be emptied regularly!:(Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
