so pensioners who never worked a day in their life deserve the same as someone who got up at 5am and worked and provided for their family for their entire working life?0 -
What if those health problems are self-inflicted through smoking, obesity, drug abuse, etc?
They would still be suffering though wouldn't they and unable to work? There are people who are suffering extremely with cancer from smoking and probably have no quailty of life and are in extreme pain. People make mistakes:sad:0 -

No people who have never worked for SELFISH reasons don't deserve a thing. But If you havent payed in you get hardly anything anyway!0 -
And when pensioners do work all their life, and maybe get a private pension they are penalised for it,by having to pay for all the things like dental, and rent and council tax, then they end up worse off.My neighbours are no better off for this.princessdon wrote: »so pensioners who never worked a day in their life deserve the same as someone who got up at 5am and worked and provided for their family for their entire working life?0 -
If you have never worked and you come to draw an old age pension, how much do you actually get?tescovaluecrisps wrote: »No people who have never worked for SELFISH reasons don't deserve a thing. But If you havent payed in you get hardly anything anyway!0 -

With pension credit - I'm pretty sure they get a whole lot more than you think.
The ones penalised are those with small private pensions who take them "above the limit" who without the passported benefits leave them worse off again.0 -
This is why people dont want to join a pension because they feel it is of no benefit to them...tescovaluecrisps wrote: »I agree that this is wrong my mum and dad are in the same situation they have always been good hardworking, honset people. they have a private pension and they have been penalised for it. In my opinion,(and I never thought I would hear myself saying this),David Cameron and his mob are worse than margaret Thatcher was?..Robbing the pensioners and the disabled is bang out of order..they dont know who to take money off next.0 -
