Advanced Train Tickets

I have recently bought some train tickets on redspottedhanky.com, they were advanced non refundable tickets, I have since found out I can get a lift on the day and do not need to use the tickets..totally gutted as it's such a waste of money. Is there ANY ways of getting a refund? Or does any one have any ideas what I could do with the tickets?

As I understand it, they will refund, but take a £10 surcharge.

If you use Southern Trains, I'm told they will give a full refund.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?
  • I had a look for the apply for a refund button but all I can see on the page is non refundable?

    'Advance' tickets are not refundable

They can be changed for a different date or time on payment of the difference in fare and a £10 fee, provided this is done before the scheduled journey

Off peak and anytime tickets bought in advance are refundable for a £10 fee.

Yes, Southern Railway will give a full refund on their own Advance Singles if bought through them.

Also refunds of other ticket types bought through them.

Gumtree wont be authorised sellers as they're not the seller. All depends how well it's moderated...not well in some cases!

Nobody bar the TOC or companies such as Redspottedhanky/trainline etc are authorised.

gumtree is part of ebay now so they are heavily moderated as ebay remove everything that is a little bit naughty. so gumtree must have a exemption with regards to ticket selling??????
