Upgrading from a BB9700 - What Next ?
It's that time of the year when I get to upgrade my phone and was looking for some views from people.
I'm currently using a Bold 9700 and love it. I was very tempted to upgrade to the 9900 but the latest Blackberry OS looks awful and I can't find a theme like the one I'm currently using on my 9700 to hide all the icons on the home screen and replace them with text. So then I started to consider the iPhone but I'm not convinced it's the phone for me as I love my pad lol
Anyone got any recommendations?

If you love your Blackberrys, you might want to go sim only and wait for a BB OS 10 phone to be released, it's supposed to be a big improvement on current the current Blackberry OS.0

What recommendations to you want?
I think most people here will agree that it is absurd to chose a phone only on the basis of some "home screen theme". However, this is the only your requirement that you posted.
Also your statement that you are not convinced that "iPhone is the phone for you as you love your pad lol" is very confusing to say the least.0 -

Sorry but obvioulsy I wasn't clear.
If I'm purchasing something, I want something I like. If I'm looking at car, I don't buy a red one if I like blue. The 7.1 OS is in my opinion rubbish. I don't like the way they force you to have big bulky icons on your home screen. I was pointing out that this has put me off the 9900 as at least with OS 6 I could change this.
So now I'm open to find out what people think of other phone's on the market. I say that i don't think the iPhone is for me as I'm not too keen on touch screen's but if people can point out its plus points, I'm open minded.
As for the comment above about taking a SIM only, as much I'd like to, my phone is on its last legs so to speak so need to find something to replace it but thanks for the idea.0 -
Anyone else..0

As I said, you are wasting your time because there are hundreds of phones on the market and your requirements are far too vague (in fact I don't see any).Anyone else..
There are dozens of threads on iPhone on this board and hundreds of reviews in the internet. Just search or google. Then go to a shop and play with it. Any salesperson will do their best to convince you that touchscreen is fine, but you keep your mind open.So now I'm open to find out what people think of other phone's on the market. Then at least make a decision about the touch screen and if you decide to stick to a smartphone and are not sure yet about iPhone, then what operating system/platform you prefer.0 -
I had a Blackberry works phone which i couldn't put down - mainly liked the email, calendar, contacts integration
When I changed jobs I tried to buy one from Virgin but lucky the advisor messed around too much and the fact you need a BB data service give me chance think about another brand (with full email, calendar, contacts sync)
Considered iphone but couldn't really justify the cost & not really attracted to it (couldn't see what the extra cash was actually buying)
Looked at androids - Got a Desire C from CPW £10 month
found it getting slower by the day
Came on here and directed to:
Huawei G300 Ascend Smartphone - £102.95 to £72.95 with credit acct, down to possible £67.01 (incl cashback) Delivered @ isme.com
