do you check your online statements as much as you would your paper statements?

in Credit cards
just wondering this - i find that since i started online statements i barely look at them and take everything for granted.
it doesnt help that some of my credit card accounts have such a tedious and cumbersome log in process.

I have both paper and online statements with the exception of Newcastle Building Society which doesn't offer paper statements. My reason for having paper statements is that when a statement needs to be produced in general online statements printed at home are not accepted. i.e. proving your balance when claiming benefits.
I'm the opposite: I check my online statement but hardly ever look at my printed statement.0 -
Yes, because Nationwide keeps it all on the same site, to access when I need to. And they remind me when a new statement (of any account) is ready.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I check my online statements frequently every day or so on all my accounts and I have a few.
I would no longer recommend anyone give up paper satements as I have recently learnt if you have to prove your finances to the UK Government they do not accept online statements, you would have to go to a branch and get them to print them and then stamp and initial them, however with paper statements you don't.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
I have both, as I refuse to give up paper statements but wouldn't use any product without online access, but I check the online ones pretty much daily and glance over the paper ones once or twice when they arrive.0

do you not find the online logging in details cumbersome?
esp if you have an account with different banks/companies - usually you have to remember a different and unique set of protocols for each site
perhaps it's a reason to stick to as few providers as you can... to make it easier for yourself0 -

No. It takes less than a minute to log into any of mine. As to different protocols etc. - if you log in with the same details every other day then you'll remember it pretty quickly.
I'm the same as the others - I skim read my paper statements occasionally but I'll check my online account regularly. It is so much more accurate and up to date than paper.0 -
I don't even look at statements. No need as I check most account balances daily and make sure they tie up with what I enter into MS Money.
That is across 9 different financial institutions / 17 accounts, most active.0 -

Strangely no, though the online login details they give me are usually a string of numbers, having a head for numbers helps here! I use eight different providers in total.0
