I have just come across this thread and it sounds like a lot of fun.

Will be sourcing my first item tomorrow and will post with updates!

On my way to work a while ago there was a piece about a charity who distribute £1 coins, the 'contestants' then compete to see who can turn it into the most in, I think, one month. The only rule is that it has to be legal. Of the people mentioned there were four young girls in school who made 4 grand, and a professional accountancy firm that made 10k. I don't think they had the double rule but it proves it's doable to some extent.

I'm awaiting further write ups with baited breath.

Looks like it was Micro Tyco (sorry can't post links yet) - a team from Deloitte made £19k. I don't think it is all done strictly from the seed capital of £1 though. Interesting and engaging charity project though!

Just googled it to have a read through and in second and third place were teams from primary schools made up of 10 years olds who made 8K and 3k respectively

Micro Tyco! That's exactly what it is. I've been trying to remember the name for a week now.

Purchased my first item today from my local Oxfam shop.

It is a Foster Pottery vase. Not my taste at all but it was only £1. It's going straight to my friends car boot sale tomorrow with firm instructions for him not to sell it for less than £2. Lets see how its goes.

you'd be surprised at what will sell at a car boot sale. All of the tat from my and DHs nans houses (fake flowers, cat figurines etc etc) went within half an hour. The rest (the nice stuff) took much longer! Good luck! we shall do it!

Sold for a fiver. Happy with that to be honest.

Now to source my next purchase. I am not aiming as high as a million quid obviously. But a couple of grand would be a decent achievement.

    Good luck with the challenge.

I totally agree with Soolin, be very carefully about posting links or info that can identify you on your selling sites. There are some down right nasty people out there who will try their best to trip you up just for the hell of it :(

The Love signs ~ I saw a mad rush on a slimming website to buy something very similar to these a few months back. the design was much the same, but with black board paint and lbs lost so far.

Maybe take this idea and think christmas countdown ?....I'm not at all a crafty type or i'd give it a go myself, especially if i had all the materials already :)

i will look forward to following your progress :D

Success! Sold for 37 pounds! five pounds over my intended profit for this week (although mostly eaten up by e-bay charges-bah!)

So, onwards and upwards. I shall use my 32 pounds wisely and report on what I'm selling and any success ASAP. How is everyone else doing on their challenge?
