Ah, I think it's a shame Linconshire Poacher got banned, he had some interesting and thought provoking ideas, although many of them were highly unethical.
He was only interested in making money from us. All his post were designed to make us think he knew what he was doing and making a lot of money, but they were all leading up to getting us to sign up to his affiliate schemes.
And when he revealed what they (or one of them) were he was banned. I suspect bragging about how he was making money from us via PM's just speeded up his ban too.0 -
OK, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to purchase next, but until inspiration strikes, I have unearthed a few bits to put on ebay (thankfully all things that were given to me, so if they sell it will be 100% profit). With any luck, I will be making another bit of money this week (come on £4!!!!!) I shall, however, stay on the lookout for potential moneymakers. I am also a bit of a crafting/restoring nut so am spending inordinate amounts of time looking in skips!!0

Aha! Inspiration has struck! I have seen these for sale
http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/delightfulliving/product/personalised-ornate-vintage-love-sign
and realised they are very easy to make. Luckily, I live pretty much within spitting distance of an industrial estate, one company of which has hundreds of pallets that they throw out or give away. So, I could get free wood, and spend my 2 pounds on wire and some paint. Would only need a tester for one board I think, although I also have some wood paint at home if needs be. Any opinions gratefully received.0 -

What a great idea:T We have a windows shop, so plenty of material:D
Will definitely try this one, since it made me sad to see so much waste:(
I have few bits on ebay and will report later on how it goes:) Also did started the 28 steps:D So far 28p found - I am on step 6 :rotfl::rotfl: 22 more to go and I'll be a millionaire:rotfl::D ( apart from the ebay thingy and all the ideashere:D)...reality is a point of view...0 -
On my way to work a while ago there was a piece about a charity who distribute £1 coins, the 'contestants' then compete to see who can turn it into the most in, I think, one month. The only rule is that it has to be legal. Of the people mentioned there were four young girls in school who made 4 grand, and a professional accountancy firm that made 10k. I don't think they had the double rule but it proves it's doable to some extent.
I'm awaiting further write ups with baited breath.1. Save money.
2. Worry you haven't saved enough.

Update: I have forgone the sign idea this week as I was very kindly given an antique washstand in bits which i have fixed and refinished in a shabby chic style. My outlay for the project was a big fat £0 as I had all the materials I needed already in my garage. Anyway, I've attached a link so you can see before and after pictures, let me know what you think1 It's already on sale so here's hoping it goes!

Good luck with the sale of the washstand, it looks really nice :money:
I'm starting my challenge today, I brought a bag of wool oddments from the carboot for £1 :T
My biggest challenge will be finding the time to make it into something saleable without spending weeks doing it. So I am putting a time limit on it.
This first 'double up' I will spend a maximum of one week, using my spare time making things from these yarns, I will post again next Sunday afternoon with details of what I have made, and hopefully any sales I make.
The first couple of 'double ups' I think would be fairly easy, but it must get difficult after that. So here goes, i've dug a few of my old patterns out, lets see what I can make :beer:0 -
I'm loving this thread. I do hope you make some money doing this. I suppose even if you make £500 - you can still be happy. The secret will be not to spend too much time on it.
If you spend hours on end attempting this it may just pay to do some extra hours at work. However, if you manage to spend a little time in the evening doing this, and make some money - i'll be very happy for you!
Good Luck!'Never forget that only dead fish swim with the stream.'

Thanks for the comments everyone. I am currently a stay at home mum so any extra money is always good. The good thing with doing this is that I can do it around the children. They're only small (2 & 3) so at the moment this works nicely. Plus when I'm a millionaire, I can afford a nanny!0

Ok, so updates. I currently have just under 2 days left on my listing. It currently has 1 bid at £35 but also has 10 watchers. To be honest I'm not sure if that's good or not, as I suspect they may all be from here!!
Anyway, once the auction is over, I shall let you know how I got on. Even if I only get the £35, that's a massive boost to my double or nothing challenge and puts me at week 5 in terms of revenue. How are the others doing on their challenge?0
