Disappointing news but many people said it was an unsustainable business plan and they were right.Halfway through the email it looked like existing customers were ok but further down the really bad news is that all customers would be cut down to the new allowance.Good while it lasted I suppose.:(
  • Good while it lasted but in my case that was one day, I ported my number yesterday!

I too thought the old pricing was unsustainable but was hoping to get at least a few months.

Ovivo will still be a good deal for some but it's no use to me: the free data allowance is only just over 3MB per day. With some apps, a smart phone can easily get through more than that without the user actively using anything.

The real sting is that additional data costs an outrageous 20p per MB (previously 6p). To avoid this and get a worthwhile allowance it's necessary to pay £10 per month. For that amount you'll get more for your money with Giffgaff.

I've got an Ovivo Data Sim in my iPad, only had it about a month and was getting 1Gb a month free, but that's going down to 512Mb.

That should still be enough for me.....

But I'm glad I didn't switch from my T-Mobile deal to Ovivo.

An option would be Samba mobile, but from what I understand it would work best if you had use of wifi at home or work to build up credit
It's not just about the money

I'm still running my sim. Still only cost me the initial purchase price!

Does the Sim card only work in smartphones or has anyone had success using one in a basic phone? I read somewhere that the advertising was mainly via emails rather than the internet.

When the offer changed , I put this sim into a basic phone and have had no problems so far for calls and texts, and never use internet
