Buyer won't collect

We have the message that they requested refund.
I've just looked them up, and they sell second hand tables and furniture.
Maybe they are trying to mess about with any competition, even though we are only private sellers.0 -
Personally I would give them an ultimatom as sugegsted above and weather out any difficulty that they might cause. Tell them it must be gone by Sunday (or whatever) and that after that time you will resell it or dispose of it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just contact ebay and explain the situation. They will give you an end fee credit as you cannot open an unpaid item dispute.
As they knew it was a collection item but still paid by paypal, then asked for a refund, they probably knew you then couldn't UID them and give them a strike.
Don't contact them again, phone ebay, ask them to give you the credit and make a note on file if there are any future problems re feedback.
Then relist tomorrow as its free listing.

No - don't bother list it on eBay - take it off-site. eBay isn't really a good venue for this sort of item, and there are many more places to sell this where this is not going to happen.
On eBay finishing with a winning bidder is great for stuff you can post out on receipt of electronic payment; it's not so good for stuff that someone can mess about with and keep you hanging on for a fortnight without in the mean time being able to find another buyer.
On a free ads site you can pick or choose which offers you accept or decline."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Then there is nothing you can do at all now as you have received payment and refused it. You cannot do an NPB so all you can really try is a mutual if they won't collect and hope they agree.
If it wasn't too expensive it might be worth trying that if you still have the facility (I'm not sure if refunding the paypal payment means a mutual can't be done) , then if they refuse you can resell. You will have lost your fees and remain able to receive feedback from the buyer, but I cannot see any alternative
It sounds like the OP didn't refuse payment. But the buyer asked for the paypal payment to be refunded, so that they could pay cash on collection.0 -

Seller cannot do an UID as the buyer did pay by paypal but the payment was refunded.

I've done that before. So unless it has changed, you can.0 -

You can't open an NPB, because they did actually pay by Paypal.
There was a glitch a while ago, it was an issue for a bit, but I have read the forums most days and haven't seen any discussion of it for a while so eBay might have tightened up that loophole."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
