I hope I've registered correctly
The numbers are quite daunting, but can see this challenge as a good motivator
Thanks againMortgage debt : -£17,000
2019 overpayments : £23,0000 -
Can I sign up please. I would like to half my mortgage.
This would be mean paying off £40'625 in 3 years which is a bit commitment but will push me to try hard.
In 2 years I might be buying another house, but will set the figure as the above to pay off either way.
Need my overpayments to be about £902! This won't be achievable at the start (more likely £700) but hopefully in a couple of years I will be overpay more than this and pull it back in.Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0! I have been reading the site for a few weeks and its all vey inspirational but I was particularly struck by the hard work and dedication of financialbliss in supporting others on the quest to be mortgage free. I have been reading the current MFi3 challenge and he does such a great job even in the occassional face of adversity.
Anyway, if I can work out how to register for this challenge I would love to do so.

Well here we go again and cant wait for it to start!!
Reading through some of the posts above it's great to see some new blood joining in. Don't be daunted, Mrs RT and I were in the same position when we first started reading the original thread and it seemed a million miles away to get anywhere near our original goal which i think was to get down to £65K. We smashed it.
Having now spent some time spending lots of money while trying to rebuild some savings ( it's amazing how everything conspires to stop you!) it's now time to refocus our efforts and see the final £11K out of the way and then switch our targets to one based on savings.
Good luck to everyone, especially the newbies and remember the old saying - a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
By joining you have took the first step.RosieTiger - Highest £242,000 Feb 2004

Hi all,
It must be the cosmos steering me here. I haven't looked at this board for over a year, having paid my mortgage off back in 2009, although I did pop in and read the threads once in a while.
So you can imagine how happy I was to see that there was the option of setting a savings goal for MFiT-3 !
And I see TallGirl is going to set a savings goal as well
So happy to join this community again - have missed this board so much !
Right, off to PM FinancialBliss and to think about my savings goal

Loving how much motivation signing up to this challenge has given me.
I overpay each month and mentioned before that if I keep this up my MFD will be Dec 2015. However, I've just been promoted at work (yay!!) and the extra money will be used for the next few months to help buy the radiators and carpet I've been saving up for, and then from December on will be going into an ISA as a kind of offsetting to my mortgage.
As I'm all eager, I've just been digging around on MSE and found an online ISA at 3.25% fixed for a year that I can manage online. I wanted an online account so that any extra bits and pieces at the end of each week/month can easily be thrown in there.
So all signed up to that too. Is it December yet??? <impatiently tapping her fingers on the table>:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0
