does your tv and video have a scart
if so you only use av and it will automatically find it

    we've had lost remotes before
i've emailed customer support on the r multi remote controller we have bought and they ask which button was used for tuning
if you know the button then email them
i didnt know so i just used a video player as our tuner

No scart on this 'un and I don't know what button on the orig remote was used to do the tuning (was hoping someone might pp up with that info). Never mind I might just tune a VCR into an already tuned but empty channel (as you did) as a workaround.
  • Hi

Can someone help me by telling me how to tune the above TV? I have searched online for a manual but to no avail!!!!! Help please!

    Thanks

Ive tried this but it just keeps going and going without picking anything up!! I did have a picture on BBC yesterday but didn't know how to save it and now its not picking anything up. I have just plugged in video via scart and had sound but no picture.

Hmmm, not a good sign, try a different SCART socket.

To be honest the TV is about 15 years old, generally a TV has a life span of 8 to 12 years.
  • I've got the video now working! The scart cable was dodgy. Picture is great! Don't know how to get the channels working tho :-(

Are you aware that there is now no analogue terrestrial tv and you will therefore have to feed it with a digibox of some description?

Tuning up and down the UHF spectrum will produce nothing.

Apologies if im telling you something you already know!
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • Is your TV aerial ok?

Are you in an area that still transmits analogue TV?

If you managed to get BBC one day and you failed to on another day then it may be that the tuner is dead/dying.

Tuning should be fairly automatic since the TV gets data from the teletext data sent with the TV signal.
  • Aerial is fine! Wish we had moved to digital TV, we still don't get channel 5 never mind digital channels.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I will persevere with it. I'm sure I will get there.
