The standard rate is off their website, and is correct.
Cheers tripled - this gets more interesting !
I have found the figures you quote - which don't actually call themselves "standard rate" or anything, presume they are. 4.398/2.240p.
When I originally 'phoned BG and asked what tariff the property in question was on, they said - "standard", and gave me 3.440/1.9446p as the rates. This was confirmed by a bill I received a couple of days later. The bill does not state any type of special tariff, so again assume it is "standard".
Now it gets stranger - I rang BG again and they have confirmed that the property is on the "standard rate".
This evening, I have gone through all the tariffs on the BG website and the one with the rates shown on my bill is "Price Protection 2007".
To be honest, I am not fussed what they call it - that is the price on the bill and it seems a good price !
As I said in my OP - my brain hurts.0
