To make it more substantial could add bacon (chopped & fried) or cooked sausages. Reminds me of a friend who did weightwatchers and there was a 'free' soup that was made similar to this but with tinned tomatoes and chopped peppers. (hot type - don't know what their called) and it was really yummy.

Soup is on, fried onion, carrot, garlic, peppers and chilli along with a chopped up matisons smoked sausage.
Into the slow cooker with two tins of 5 beans, passatta with basil and 2 stock cubes, topped up with water.
I will put in pasta later this afternoon.

Forestroxydog, sorry to hear about your greyhound, healing vibes and gentle cuddles sent your way. I love all dogs
but have recently been looking in to adopting a greyhound or lurcher. I'd love a Claude Greengrass dog! I can't have any dogs whilst Percy is still here (long live Percy!) but I've been doing my research and need to keep stopping myself at looking at all the ones needing homes!

Thrifty Sister - that's lovely that you are all looking after Billy! I bet he loves having the pick of 3! I can never understand how people can discard their pets so easily.
We adopted Percy knowing he'd be on regular medication for life due to his kidney failure - the RSPCA think this is the reason he was abandoned. I'm always a sucker for the animals with health problems or what not! He requires a lot of attention and is very fussy with food so we do waste a lot, but that is part and parcel of his condition, and I wouldn't change him for the world. Well, unless I could make him healthier, oh and not pooh in the carrier when going to the vets!

And this is for all the regulars who are staying away..... done in my best Rick Astley impersonation.........

My sister has a cat, Gomez, with renal failure. Also diabetic. Her dog went blind and had cushions at about 10 but lasted until 14. It was like she lost her child when he went. She still posts on his FB account from beyond the rainbow bridge! :A

Have been catching up and im sorry to hear that some of the regulars are not going to be posting on this thread anymore as I think its all the different characters that have made this thread what it is.I have agroraphobia so I dont go out the house very often and joined this thread because I thought everyone on hear was very supporting,kind and helpful of others and I think its a great shame that anyone has been made to feel that they have to stop posting because of a few ignorant people.I hope they feel that they can start to post again soon as I for one will miss hearing of their escapades.Sorry rant over have a good one folks.
