SAR from whom? And for what? Your friend will be allowed to see all the evidence when she asks for it as part of her appeal. I'm sure she will tell you what/where the supposed joint account is.
Your friend's account and benefit application is confidential to her so you cannot ask for those. When you apply for an SAR it is for your own accounts and details and all third party names should be removed.
However I did do an SAR myself (not from Benefits agencies) and all third parties were still in there! So sometimes they don't remove them, but they should.
So even if you get implicted in someone else's case wrongly, you are not allowed to see the information they gained/hold on yourself because it not todo with your case?0 -

No as it's part of an ongoing investigation and therefore does not have to be released.
Although they may release once the investigation is closed although they still do not have to.0 -
Data protection would mean all third party information would be removed even then. So the piece of paper would say
[blank space] investigation showed a joint account with yourself and [blank space] and upon investigation this proved * to be correct/incorrect
and little else. You are never able to obtain any info on your friends account or her investigation. All you would be able to do is write to the agency involved once the investigation is over and ask for written confimation sent to you evidencing they have concluded their investigation and that they confirm there have been no financial links between you. If you wanted to. But she will receive that in writing if that is the case too."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0 -
OP, have you ever paid anything on your friend's behalf maybe? Like, you paid her phone bill on your card and then she gave you the cash? Or, on a slightly less pleasant note, might it be possible your friend has used your details to take out credit she otherwise wouldn't have got? If I were you I would get yourself an up to date copy of your own credit file which will show any cards you hold, if there's nothing on there, leave her to it, at the end of the day it's her claim to sort out not yours.0

nothing I am aware of awaiting my credit file to be sent. She assures me nothing appears on hers contrary to hmrc's claims.0

Tbh what I am intersted in is I suspect its not a credit card but an actual false claim made by a third party they have acted on. If its a CC in my name can be sorted but if its an accusation I would like to know who made it and in what contex.0 -
Even if she made an SAR after the investigation ended, the third party name would be removed so you wouldn't know who. However it might say how the contact was made, whether it be online anonymously or by phone call and it would probably say the exact words used. But she would need to do the SAR once the investigation is over, but it shouldn't contain the names of the instigator even if they know it. But it might give you clues."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0

Good old Noddle.
I'd check Experian too as it is larger but Noddle is one of the big three and ime says the same as the others and of course has the advantage of being free."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0
