Oh goodness, i was just thinking yesterday...i need the meal planning thread.
We seem to ne having a surprisingly traditional week!
Tonight sloppy joes (made)Dh brought home a beautiful chaource so that became cheese course, and we also had half a bottle of cote du rhone.
Tomorrow fish pie I have just whacked some puff pastry in the oven and made some creme patisserie, and will stew some plums for the top of this for an informal end of summer tart, which should do today and tomorrow.
Saturday roast (beef?) Dh pulled a brisket not the topside or rib out of the freezer, so i might pot roast this in a bottle of red wine rather than dry roast it.
Sunday roast beef salad if warm, or reinvented if hot
Monday. (not me cooking)
Tuesday lentil soup from the freezer
Wednesday, just me. If warm then Crudite, if not then lo fish pie. And creamed spinach.
May next week be more exciting!
I have decided to mark changes/ adaptations in red. Not least because this might be helpful for those new to meal planning to see how the plan might shrink or grow or just go kaput!0 -

Thanks for sharing everyone x
This is us:
Breakfasts
Cornflakes with soya milk and dried fruit x 4
Ready Oats with dried fruit x 3
Mid-am snack: orange (eldest gets fruit at school)
Lunches
White/wholemeal finger rolls with bean pate, beetroot and salad x 3
Nigella-inspired Rainbow Room-style Scones with spread and yeast extract x 4
Each day: carrot or pepper sticks, raisins or apple or banana or blackberries from the garden, and a soya dessert pot.
Teas
an experimental "fridge cake" twist on fig rolls, and cornflake cookies.
Dinners
Spaghetti al Forno (or Blanket Bake)
Peanut Pease Roast with greens, potatoes and gravy
Pasta with Marinated Onion and Vine Fruit Salad (kids having v.frankfurters, peas, sweetcorn and French dressing through pasta as eldest requested it for first day back's "special tea" when asked)
Quick Pizzas with Peanut Coleslaw (maybe a few wedges each too, depends on how hungry)
Hotch Potch Pie with baked beans
West African Stew with flatbreads
Yellow Dhal, Bombay Potatoes and Onion Bhajis
Suppers
Girls will have choice of milky tea, milky "coffee" i.e. Caro, cocoa or warm soya milk. We can have crackers and carrots, but chances are it will just be me eating raw carrots all day - can't get enough of them at the minute.Love and compassion to all x0 -
