Anglian water .... No bill

Hi there.. I have been living in a new property for over a year and have recieved no bill... Our neighbours have....

When we first moved into the property my husband phoned them to tell them we had moved and gave the meter details and plot number of our house etc.....
He asked if the direct debit could just carry on and was told no by the adviser on the phone he explained that as we are on a meter we would have to wait for a bill.... Have phone several times since then but nothing.....

Obviously this past year will have to be paid can I argue the fact that we are going to be landed with a big bill through no fault of our own...ie we had been in contact with them....?
Planning on ringing them later to get it sorted whilst in the forefront of my mind before another month slips by....

Any advice appreciated......

You can't claim anything I am afraid, you can get a gesture of goodwill but that would be around £25

You need to put it in writing with your meter serial number, house number and full postal address and then your meter reading.

No point doing it by phone again as if the account is not set up properly then it is a back office function and you are stuck waiting for someone in the call centre to pass it on
