ASDA appear to be withdrawing their credit card starting November 2012 ending January 2013. Anyone know why? What is the best replacement?

They are not withdrawing the credit card as such, it affects the Asda Reward/Everyday/Store card and is replaced by the Asda Money Credit Card? http://money.asda.com/credit-cards/important-information-for-asda-rewardeverydaystore-card-customers/LBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015

Yeah it's just part of a rebranding exercise in which all the financial services are being put under a new ASDA Money umbrella. The new ASDA Money credit card replaces the old schemes.0

Plus the Asda Money credit card is backed by Creation. Previous agreements were with Santander as such there isn't the option to simply 'switch' to the new card as was previously offered with Everyday and Reward cards.0 -
So from that link i'll have to apply for a new credit card. Thought they would just send out a new one like Barclaycard did when they took over Egg.0

Different scenario, Barclaycard/Egg was one bank buying another bank's credit card business, Santander/Asda/Creation only relates to a 'branding' agreement (and associated loyalty benefits).0 -
Asda are advertising their new credit card in their current magazine saying how much cash back you can have for various transactions.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Oh dear!! I have changed over to the Creation supplied ASDA card - not brilliant comments on here so far! I want to contact them - does anyone have a Landline number instead of 0871 shown on the paperwork please?
I don't want to waste my cashback rewards on making expensive calls!0 -
