I'm a previous First Telecom user, too.

Telesave still works via cable lines. No dialler box available though, just 0800 0662266 access code. There is no connection fee, national calls are 1.5p/min daytime and 1p/min evenings and you obviously dial direct on cable at the weekends if it's free.

National daytime calls over 10 minutes are better with 18185, but evening calls are better with Telesave as there is no connection fee.

I called up to try and get this but was told I was inelegible as I am a new customer and have the discount that was available in August which gives you broadband for £4.50 for the first 6 months.

Can only have one or the other apparently even though the T+Cs say it is only incompatible with other LINE RENTAL discounts, which I don't have.

Unfortunately the supervisor agreed with the chap on the phone, but they did say I can call back in 6 months when my broadband goes up to full price, and I could have it.
