Just be aware that a 0% BT might not be the cheapest way to do this.britishboy wrote: »4 months ago I got a Nationwide and Barclaycard both with 0% BT to transfer off my main card (lloydstsb) following renovating my house. I now need another card to clear the Lloyds card as its interest free period is coming to an end, what other card should I apply for? I will then close the Lloyds card completely.
I know I've racked up a fair bit of debt, but new home and everything is now done, and I have my company sharescheme money coming out in January so I can clear all 3 cards when that does. This isnt normally a situation I'd get into, but needed to following a move. As soon as I get my share money, I will clear all 3 cards.
If your other two cards are on 0%, can you pay the minimum on them (some people would suggest minimum + £1) and then hit the Lloyds card with everything you have left to bring the balance down. And then, either way, pay the balance off in January.
If you do this, a 3% BT fee would work out to be 10% APR or more.0
