I find it hard to buy that an employee would be as stupid as to try it, seeing as it would be so easy to trace back to them.

Are the police looking at tracing the call you received?

I also find it unlikely that it was malware related - I assume you typed in your card details, so why would they need to call?

There is a possibility though that some malware has redirected the dominos site in your hosts file (assuming you are on Windows) - unlikely too though, as why would they target dominos of all places? You can check this using these instructions: http://www.tech-pro.net/how-to-check-repair-hosts-file.html

Scan with a different antivirus to your normal one just in case. Emsisoft do an excellent free scanner.

I don't know what information is displayed in the shop for customers - but if there is a number displayed - that is your likely source IMHO.

As I recall, the sticker on the box edge contains a mobile number for the delivery guy - perhaps whilst the boxes are queueing they are left exposed for bored punters to read?

Many Dominos orders are taken by phone rather than online, whereby the customer may choose to pay by credit card over the phone. If the staff at the local franchise are responsible, I would have thought that they'd just concentrate their efforts on these customers rather than finding an elaborate way to trick online customers.

It does say on the Domino's website that they may call to verify details. I've had it a few times - usually the first time your order/if you order from a new location.

They check the details and the pizza arrives. Certainly no funny business.

If it was literally a few minutes, would a Domino's worker even have had time to do anything?

It's more likely, in my opinion, that your card details were intercepted when you submitted them through the online form. I'd make sure your computer security is completely up to date, and be very careful about doing anything such as internet banking until you are confident it is.

Poor value maybe (this is the case with just about all takeaway food, but people don't generally buy food like this because of the value aspect of it), but a ripoff?

If something (be it food or any other product) is clearly advertised at a certain price, and when it comes to paying, you are charged the known and agreed cost, where does the ripoff come into it?
Yes i agree..Lets just call it stupidity then.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Hmm, it does seem quite odd, I can't make up my mind on malware or staff member at dominos.

Obviously I'd say run some decent anti-malware, not just the usual AVG, Avast etc. Download and run malwarebytes anti-malware if you don't have it, that's good at finding the things the usual free anti-virus folks use WILL miss, or will tell you they've "healed" when they haven't.

If it's clean then..seems you'll seriously need to chase this with dominos, beyond the franchise and to the company itself I'd think.
