Comet - 5 year customer care extended waranty

Hi All
wondered if anyone else had dealt with this,
We took out the warrenty and 6 months in my toddler took her hockey stick to the TV
Luckily it was covered
My issue is that it appears I am locked into Comet to get a replacement
I asked if I could have the value as a cheque and they said no
So it seems I'm stuck with them, but my model is no longer available and they ones they have at the moment are either:
A) More expensive than the model I had
or
The models they have are cheaper on other websites
Are they able to do this by insisting I get a replacement with them rather than offering a cheque for the value?

All of this will be covered in the warranty documentation, but as CoolHotCold says, yes0 -
So you want to have a cheque, buy the tv in a cheaper store and pocket the difference.
it isnt done that way,
You wouldnt get a cheque for the full value anyway because they would deduct an amount for the time you have used the telly.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
