Thought you'd know hoe to advise on this here. My daughter started high school recently and for homework etc we could really use one. But of course money is tight. It doesn't need to be anything fancy or even a laptop as long as it can go online n do basics. Where do u recommend i look? Been looking at local paper n notices in shops but no joy so far.

Try putting a "Wanted" on your local Freecycle/ Freegle, might get a result.0

Have a look through this list if you are on a low income.

Also Gumtree is a good source. Your daughter could also speak to a Student Advisor, they sometimes can help. :cool:0 -
Don't buy anything without running it by us here first.0

Ebay. £100 will get you an ex-corporate Dell Latitude or Thinkpad T series or HP NC series. Dull as dishwater but they were typically over £1000 new and will be more than up to what you want. Built like a tank too so they'll take a bit of hammering.0

Go to local library for free!0

Library being used at moment. But that's limited as only allowed 2 hrs per day. Also can't always get a computer. And not open wed afternoon or weekends. Budget £100-1500

You'll also have the ongoing cost of an internet connection-have you factored this in?
Basically this means a landline with an ADSL connection, or a wireless dongle. No free lunch, and no free laptop
