Oh dear, poor shredder... maybe it's just overheated and needs a rest?
Burn it if you have an open fire, rising, that's the quickest I think. Otherwise I put mine in our recycle bin or, if very confidential, put it in water with some washing up liquid and stir it once a day. It dissolves to a pulp in 2-3 days and goes down the drain then:)rising_from_the_ashes wrote: »I've posted a thread on the PPI board - however, not sure it would be worthwhile anyway as the accounts were all defaulted/ settled on F&Fs so they could probably keep any money due against the written off debt ......

It might just be overheated.Wait for 10-15 minutes and try it again. This happens with my shredder sometimes if I don't space it out a bit. Also mine doesn't take more than 4 sheets at a time.0 -
Hey Rising, as far as I know there isn't a time limit against PPI claims - you 'just' need to prove you were mis-sold the policy. This is easier done in some cases than others (such as the pre-ticked box on some internet applications which they used to have), or if you were self employed, knew you were going to take or were in danger of redundancy or had certain pre-existing medical conditions at the time the policy was taken out. In the case of loans there's also arguments that you were advised you had to take out PPI, or your application would be more likely to be successful when you took out the loan. There's a specific questionairre set up by the Financial Obudsman that you need to complete and send off - could be worth a go?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thanks Kerri - I know I was certainly told that when I took out my loan ...... and it was one that I settled (in full - by consolidating with another loan) so that one may well be worth a shot!

And today's pathetic excuse for not getting another NSD is.....(drum roll)....I found some lovely bargains on the House of Fraser website for ladies' accessories, and thereby managed to sort out a birthday present for a relative. And OH tells me if you look on their site via ebay, you get even better bargains.
