I use KTC brand in a tub, doesn't smell like anything to me.

Loads of independent asian shops sell this & it is food grade. I use it to cook with & on my skin & hair - South East London shops (Peckham, Brixton & Lewisham) sell it so I imagine East London should be similar - if there are lots of herbs, packets of seasonings & things like ghee on sale you should see it - if not ask the shopkeeper.

When I am feeling flush I use the virgin stuff (much more expensive) which does have a slight smell of coconut. The stuff on sale in Superdrug has an artificial fragrance added & is not edible (also not so cheap).
  • It is not liquid (except in v hot weather/climates) - you will need 2 mash it up with food or melt it in your hand.

Do not microwave as that may kill some of nutriments.

Plastic tub is far easier to get at than the glass bottle (didn't bother until I sourced the tubs to be honest).
  • I would run the bottle under the hot tap for a few seconds, should be enough heat to liquidise a 'portion' of oil.

I buy the same brand but in a 500g jar - easier to spoon out. its def solid and room temp. Its about £2 in the asian store here which is no use to you I know but def try any you have locally.
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

  • I get that same bottle (or very similar) in my local Asda in the Black/Asian Hair aisle - efforts to tame my Irish frizz, and it does make a good hand/nail oil (I also have psoriasis). My dog adores it, I get licked thoroughly! I get a jug with hot water and use what liquifies (it's a solid lump). £0.99 in Asda!
  • Hi getting ready,
I have been using coconut oil for about 2months now
Love it , great for hair, skin and we all have it in our porridge in the morning( one tablespoon each)
I love it so can just eat it off the spoon.

I give my westie 1teaspoon a day on his food or off the spoon
He loves it ,he gets itches on his skin and ths is helping

I buy mine from Coconutty, or Amazon, Essence of Eden is good but a bit expensive wontbe buying it again £11 for 300g.
I have tried a few different kinds,
they must be cold pressed and pure organic coconut oil , dont buy the refined kind . 460 g cost about £10.

Coconutty. Charges £4.99 for postage but if you buy a lot at one time it spreads the cost getting all my friends on it
