Frubal you should have gone to Aldi, all of their fresh turkeys and turkey crowns were half price, I got a crown for £5.32, it is now sitting in the freezer waiting for easter :D

My mum picked me up a FAB bargain at Makro yesterday! A 6.6 kilo turkey reduced to £5 from £33!

Spent yesterday butchering it up with a very long suffering hubby! Calculated should get 8 family of 4 meals from it :) had to chop the carcass in half for stock, wouldn't fit in my slow cooker! Lol! Half came out this morning (gorgeous rich brown!) and got a bowl full of shreds for soup and the other half has just gone in for more stock and shreds.
  • Not going near the shops until Tuesday, when all I need to get is milk and eggs.

We are having another leftovers day today, using up the last of the Turkey and gammon made into a pie with beans and chips. I have prepared the pie and chips and DH is cooking tonight, he said I am not ot do a thing today as I have done too much over Christmas, which left me in agony.

I have made the gammon water into a lentil and ham soup and a pea and ham soup for lunches for next week.

Gammon with salad and piccalilli sarnies for lunch.

Lots of glorious money saving going on this week :D

We are using up everything from the freezer, cupboards and left overs from Christmas this month so the food shop will be very small for the whole month. :D

    Total spend since 30th December = £0 :j
