As Cauliflowers are part of the super six deal I thought I would share this link:

    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/420629/cauliflower-and-potato-curry

I made this curry at the weekend and it is lovely. I didn't use fresh coriander as I had none in & I substituted the green chilli with a teaspoon of very lazy red chilli. I also added a cup of water. I had managed to get a large cauliflower and the curry gave 4 good servings. It is going on my list of good budget meals.

There is a lovely egg, potato and cauliflower curry in the grocery challenge thread recipe list. We have used it several times now and my meat eater husband and son didn't complain :T

I caught sight of someone wanting to use up leeks & would like to share the concept of a wonderful lunch I had in a little tea rooms at the weekend.

So very obviously HM pancake, stuffed with a lush cheese & leek sauce, & rolled up to look like cannelloni! The serving was two of them in a dish, but I could see how the sauce could be adapted for many tastes.
I also thought it could be transformed into a lasagne if you didn't have time for (or want to faff with ;) ) the rolling part :)

  • Big MummaF I do stuffed pancakes quite a lot and you can stuff them with anything that you want.
    Tasty and cheap :D

I am going down to get some more today because the new super six starts tomorrow.
I am chatty with the manager so I will see if I can find out what is on tomorrow.

BTW don't forget the Aldi coupons in the Daily mirror tomorrow £5 off of a £40 shop plus coupons.

I used to use pancakes to extend left over bean stew. Heat, portion and wrap stew. Lay filled pancakes in a tray/serving dish, cover with sauce (white with cheese or mushroom, or tomato) and heat until bubbling.

Possible under the grill if needed but go slowly so the pancakes heat up completely before the top burns.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

This thread seems to have got much livelier recently. Think it's because we're all feeling the pinch.

It's great to see so many recipes.

Look forward to finding out what the next Super 6 will be.

Yes Joedeneise-It's so nice the thread is in full swing again even if it is because we are all finding money is scarce, it's so good to have support to keep going. The recipes are all a real help. I can't wait to try BB's one with leeks(probably tomorrow) as we have some really nice looking ones in the garden now and I know BB's recipes are always tasty. Keep it coming everyone.jacxx
