    I would make my hounds liver flapjack cake- a small slice for them on the day and the rest saved for training treats! I have the recipe saved somewhere if you are interested!

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]½lb rolled oats [/FONT]
    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]2 eggs [/FONT]
    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]1 cup milk[/FONT]
    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]½lb plain flour [/FONT]
    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]2 teasp garlic powder/or clove garlic [/FONT]
    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]water to mix[/FONT]
    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]1lb cheapest liver*[/FONT]


    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Put liver, garlic & eggs into blender & whiz until smooth. (If using fresh garlic whizz this first- don't bother to peel)[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Gradually add flour & milk, then add enough water until cake like consistency.[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Put into large baking tray (perhaps roasting tin? If poss line withsilicone sheet)[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Bake in a pre-heated oven @ 200C[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Cook until all the liquid has been absorbed, test with a skewer.[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Cooking time can be from 30-60 minutes depending on the depth of the ‘cake.’[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]You want the cake to be fairly shallow.[/FONT]

    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]Cool. Cut into cubes. Bag up and freeze.[/FONT]




    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif]*You can also use soya mince or Tesco frozen turkey mince.[/FONT]


    [FONT=Century Gothic, sans-serif](You can also bake something similar in the microwave e.g. flour & oats weight=drained weight of tinned tuna in oil & adjust other ingredients accordingly)[/FONT]

    Just don't do what I did for Rusty.

    It was his 14th Birthday and we decided to buy him a cake and put a 1 & 4 candles on top. We thought he could have a piece and we would have some too.

    We went to M&S and bought one of their extra special Victoria sandwich cakes and went home.

    I came in wih the cake, candles lit, whilst OH had camera ready. Rusty backed away from the candles as they frightened him, so I blew them out. As soon as they were blew out, he opened his mouth and 1/2 the cake disappeared ! There was gob all over the other half, so we couldn't eat it. I couldn't breathe for laughing as he chomped it all down.

    Ah, some good memories. Missing my baby bad today.
