Private ticketing companies sometimes send photos or images from their cameras. It's an easy way to make their so-called "evidence" look more convincing. It surprises me how victims assume that they can use it to identify the driver, as if they also have a database of photographs of everyone in the world.

It wouldn't hurt to try the car hire/leasing firm first. For all we know, they may be one of the good ones. If not, we do have a Plan B.

Hi Stephen, the photo evidence issue here is not one of identification or intimidation, its that they've listed the wrong VRM and we are slightly concerned that they will 'correct' their mistake after viewing the photo and contact the Lease Co.

We're not bothered about the photo as actual 'evidence'.

Let the lease co know that you'll deal with any correspondence from the PPC if it arrives. Tell them that this may happen after your purchase, so either forward the letter to yourself, or better still get them to understand that they can safely ignore such things.
Someone somewhere is getting threatening letters from the PPC and will probably 'appeal' (or according to some 70% just pay them anyway ). They may or may not have a photo, this in itself is not enough should things get any further, but may prod them to harass the Hire co.
