Argos Delivery Nightmare..!!!

Having recently moved house we ordered new beds for all the family, 2 kids and us, All in all 3 beds, We were told when we ordered that delivery time would be 5 weeks, and we thought that after we'd moved in that would only be 2 weeks to wait. No problems so far.
The beds are due to be delivered tomorrow morning, but I just received a phone call from Argos saying that one of the beds is not in stock! Less than 24 hours before delivery.
So I asked which of the items was not available...
the girl on the phone said all of the order is not available so and becuase it's one order they cannot just deliver any part of it on its own. This seems completely ridiculous, I asked to them speak to a manager. The manager tells me that actually the childrens beds are available and in stock and she will do her best to find out if she can split the order. She comes back after 15mins(yes 15 at 14p a minute...well done Argos).
Now the childrens beds can be delivered but without the tents that come with the mid-sleepers as these parts are out of stock until 14th spetemeber...unbelievable. I mean when did they really know that they had no stock available??
The worst of this is that I took these 4 days off knowing that delivery was going to be here this week and I'd have time to build the beds, etc...
I asked about some compensation but the manager said they cannot discuss this until the order is complete...yikes.!!! How could they leave it so late to let us know...oh and the other bed that is out of stock is now not available until the 24th September that would be nearly 10 weeks after order....rubbish.
Argos it? More like Argos **it.

Argos are a joke! If I'd come on to MSE forum before ordering and read through threads, I'd never have ordered from them

But surely IF they do, and I don't agree that that is the case surely the terrible quality is down to the manufacturer?
Although I will comment more once I have assembled the bed..0 -

It's down to the manufacturers that Argos choose. And they mainly choose low quality manufacturers, so that they can make maximum profits.0 -
And I could have almost predicted it, Still waiting for the final part of the order due to be delivered tomorrow morning, Had a phonecall today........... No stock available again....Won't be delivered now until the 2nd of October........What is up with these idiots...how can they not know before now.0

Stick with it.
We've now been given a delivery date of 3rd October and offered a generous goodwill gesture as compensation so we're happy. For now. Will be happier still once we get the beds actually delivered and built!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

I would cancel the order. I doubt that any compensation that they will give you will be more than you can save by going elswhere.0
