Timeout from natwest... bad credit rating!?

Hi
I made an application earlier for a student credit card with natwest. I was accepted after the credit check and given a limit of £500. I took so long about reading the terms and conditions that I got timed out of the website, and received a message saying do not do anything or reapply, natwest will contact me within 7 days. Stupidly, I reapplied 15 mins later. This time, I was rejected by the credit rating agency. I want to know whether this will have reduced my credit rating? Although I was stupid, it is not exactly a reflection on my credit rating!
Thanks in advance

I rang Natwest, the woman wasn't sure whether I'd be affected or not.Mallotum_X wrote: »Have you rung them and asked?0 -

I have admitted that I was stupid, but everyone makes mistakes and this is the first time I've applied for a credit card. I did not realise that multiple applications can harm your credit rating until reading a thread on here.
Can anybody help? I'm hoping that since I only received one rejection, my credit rating will be unharmed...0 -
It doesn't look good on your rating no- you should wait a few months between applications. however, you haven't been rejected from the first attempt have you?:rotfl:0

The first attempt was successful and I was given the maximum amount of credit for that particular card. Then since it didn't work I stupidly reapplied, which is when I got the rejection.0 -

Yes hopefully in the next 7 days I will indeed hear something and get the credit card I want, but my main worry is that this will have damaged my credit rating
The only reason I'm getting a credit card in the first place is in an attempt to boost it!! Thanks for easing my worries a bit

Even if you have damaged it it's only temporary - credit searches drop off after 12 months.0
