Buying a new build without a garage?

Hello, Im after some advice please. As the title suggests, would you buy a new build without a garage, but with 2 parking spaces next to the property?
Im slightly concerned that we may struggle to sell (when the time comes) as a 3 bed semi detached without a garage might not appeal to a family? We have no children at the minute but we do plan on it being a family home in a couple of years time. The main focal point for me was having 2 parking spaces as i know from renting in a new build area at the minute its a nightmare to park.
Thanks,
Steve

We are due to exchange today (hopefully?!?) on a new build without a garage. I personally don't see it as an issue. We have two parking spaces so not a problem there.
We looked at new builds with garages and they were either more expensive or had smaller gardens. Not an issue at all for me. I have one child and hope to have another soon but I don't mind.0 -
It might put a few people off, but as long as you have parking spaces I don't think it would be a deal breaker for most people.
There is nothing I keep in my garage that I couldn't keep in a shed and most of what is in my garage is junk which I would have taken to the tip if I didn't have a garage.0 -
It depends. For me it is a deal breaker, although I have a car small enough to fit in the garage (most of them are very small). We've automatically discounted any houses without a garage, even those with allocated parking, as allocated parking can be a nightmare with people parking where they should not.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0

We wouldn't buy a house without a garage as OH wants a workshop area to securely store and work on bikes without being in the rain and I'm certainly not letting him in the house with any oily bike bits (happened once in previous house, never again!0

We don't look at houses without a garage for the same reason as arbrighton.
Apparently the bikes are too valuable to be put in a shed..... :think:I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
We wouldn't buy a house with no garage either but I am sure it wouldn't put a lot of people off.0

The garages are only good for small cars anyway0

Thanks for the mixed reviews so far. The parking spaces are part of the property so its not a car park with a number on, but im still a bit disappointed there is no garage, which would mean buying a shed at least. Does anyone know how much a garage would cost on average?0

Wasnt worried about my own place not having a garage, but have a big garden with a large outbuilding instead.
It may put some people off but how many actually use them for cars, seen a lot on new build estates locally that have been converted into extra living space anyway.0 -

Well look at new builds with a garage!
Do you want/need a garage? (this is purely for practical purposes as in, do you want a garage for storage/workshop/hobbies etc or need for any of those reasons?!) If the answer is no then dont buy a house with a garage.
I would like a garage yet have no need and as such bought a property without a garage. I would like a swimming pool but have no need and as such bought a house with no pool. Though i believe it would make my home more attractive to potential buyers, should i have a pool installed for the people who buy my home after me?!
Garages can cost between £1500 (self build) and £10,000+. I think (cant guarantee this and sure someone will correct me soon enough) garages are part of permitted development so shouldnt be too complicated with planning permission and building regs.0
