Over billing

Someone please help been with Vodafone 11 plus years just managed to comprehend online bills and noticed they have been charging me for text messages when should have been free.
These extra charges add up to over 360 pound over the period.
Called vod they said my fault should have checked my own bills, but I'm no Einstein and bills seem designed to confuse also they constantly ring me to help improve my bills they didn't spot it nor did store manager I saw at weekend when enquiring about upgrade she said high bills were due to calling 08 numbers!!!!!!
At my wits end as all they want to do is pay me 60 pound
Going to write to ofcom and any one who will listen but already spent 4hrs trying to sort this out
Help any ideas

It's easier to squeeze water from stone than to get money back from Vodafone. And it's definitely much more difficult than checking their online bills.
You have to exhaust their internal complaint procedure before complaining to the ombudsman (ADR), not to Ofcom.

I think, if you can prove what you say then you can even sue Vodafone through an online Small Claims Court.

yes it's partly your fault for not noticing it but that is not the main issue and not what you are complaining about.

You are complaining about being billed for something you don't owe.

    That is Vodafones 'fault'.

I would also post on this forum.

They also have good Vodafone staff helping with billing problems.

You should put 'Vodafone' in the title of the thread.

'Vodafone over billing problem' for example

    best of luck

0800 are free from a landline but they never been free from a mobile since I had house brick for a cellphone
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

On a point of order, Orange Everyday50 used to have free calls to 0800 numbers. Very attractive tariff it was, back in the day (~10-12 years or so ago...)
  • I was on Everyday50 when I got my very first phone in 2000! No inclusive text messages, only 50 off-peak minutes every day. How things change!
