Maybe the postcode thingy is so they can offer next-morning home delivery if they don't find stock?0

Is there a problem with that , always grateful for an up to date one.
If you have a problem with screwfix , go elsewhere. ( I am happy)0 -

I have no reason to shop at screwfix. I was just saying they take your address so they can bombard you with catalogues.
If you've only ever bought a box of nails in 10 years, it's pointless having a stack of catalogues gathering dust, is it.0 -

No, if you don't buy anything after a year or so, they stop sending catalogues. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

They don't send the catalogues out now anyway, if you want a catalogue, you either ask the call centre to send you one, or you pick one up in store, they definately don't do mass mailings of them to everyone they have an address for.0

You could always find out the postcode of another branch and give them that instead. They can send their catalogues to themselves then.
I complained a while back about Toys R Us asking for my postcode. I declined to provide it, since it's not actually needed for them to make the sale. Just say no."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
I don't see why any company would need your address.0
