Is it a Ferrari?
I think temp insurance is skewed to a few days to a week and the cost for longer periods is much more. The man without a signature.0 -

I wish... something a bit more common... 2L Mondeo 06 plate worth < £2k
Have found some more quotes since, but we're still talking about £250 p.m .0 -
I guess zero no claims, So the premium will be around £2000 anyway.
Insure it for the year and cancel it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Yeap, insurance co's are really taking advantage of the continuous insurance regulations, and as usual it's the law abiding drivers that get hit in the pocket.0

I've had worse than that, try £4.4k - that really did make me **** a brick!0

Why not ask your own insurance company? Mine insured a second car, whilst selling it following purchase of new car, for £15 for 1 month.0

Its risky for the insurer though.
Insure your car 3rd party and damage it on a post or something. No claim against you but you cant claim.
Bright idea. Lets take out a 1 month policy in the dogs name and claim for the damage.
You get the car fixed cheaper than repairing it yourself and the dog gets increased premiums for the next 5 years if he wants to drive.
Next scratch insure it in the cats name.
But for just 1 months premium they have potentially the same risk as a yearly policy.
I would imagine their ideal solution would be £2000 for one days cover with 364 days free.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thats keeping the old car on cover whilst you sell it though.
My old broker would do that for free
I would say im buying a new car but need the old one covered whilst i sell it. No problem, I will just hang onto the paperwork for you.
Im happy and he is happy knowing i will be back again year after year. Until they closed and the internet took over.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
