I did it for a short period of time on a temporary contract, and then full time for 2 years. The second one was nice, the first was total idiots calling all day, heard the word 'monkey' a few times!Irn-Bru-Kid wrote: »My OH works in a call centre. He does it because he has to. Not for the love, but for the money.
The level of abuse that he is subject to at times is shocking. He has been called every name under the sun. And the callers are very keen on the 'c' word. He has had several female colleagues in floods of tears after being verbally abused on the telephone.
For you to refer to call centre handlers as monkeys is quite simply out of order. But then again, if you can't even figure out what time of the day it is...
And just to be childish, I hope your knew utility provider screws up your account. You will need all the help you can get from the 'monkeys' then.
Indeed, it'd be amusing to see the tables turned.
I'd also recommend everyone is nice to the person on the end of the phone - they can see all of your personal information including address, contact numbers and email addresses. Would be awful if they signed you up for newsletters or gave out your number to PPI firms, or ordered you a pizza.... :rotfl:
We didn't do anything like that at all.0 -

To be fair, the poster knew what time of day it was. Just forgot it was a bank holiday in the UK (I presume they were out of the country?)0 -

Aw, now you've gone and destroyed this thread. If anyone had bothered to read the OP's second post, there'd have been no reason for any others.0 -

I thought the monkeys done that regardless? Apart from the pizza thing.0
