Tyres aside (which I agree with)

For a easy runabout 4x4 Subaru Justy or if you really need the space the Sumo 4x4 van.

Cracking little thing, if you can find one.

Fiat Panda deisel, light, narrow tyres. Drive properly and it's better than the average range rover wan! tank in snow.

Mk1 MR2, driving in the snow is just about the most fun you can have with your pants on.:rotfl:

But the pants won't be on for very long when you do get out of the car :rotfl:

Hi all, can anyone recommend a used car that can easily deal with snowy and icey roads with low uk road taxes ? As a lot 4x4 have high road taxes , I would like a estate please help

Early Daf 44 or 55 estate. Zero (ie: historic) road tax, dirt cheap insurance, rear wheel drive, skinny little tyres and limited slip dif. The perfect snow car ;)

eta: and if you can find one at all, a good one will be less that £1k because they're so under-valued :)

The entirely original and not at all predictable response from our resident VW nut.

:rotfl:I drove mine in 2-3 inches of snow and was laughing my head off all the way, totally predictable and controllable with the throttle.

That is until you hit ice and certain muscles clench harder than you ever thought possible.
