  • So today I've opened the kids bank saving/isa accounts.
The 20 lira was turned back into £6.15 so I put it in the kids accounts as we are broke.
And regarding a LSD I spent only £2 and that was on our kebab meat for Saturday from Iceland as I make our own and griddle it, and it saves the ££££'s!!
Visited mum and had a cuppa on the way back from town and a chin wag.
Just got home and put dinner on.
Filed some paperwork PROPERLY!! And I'm about to set up standing orders to finally go into all our savings accounts more importantly our save to buy account.

I'm glad I've seen the light and changing for the better for us and our kids :)

Right feeling positive today, I've worked out our outgoings for the month including payments coming in and if we behave ourselves we should be +£80 up in our bank account and we will start to sort out our credit cards out with paying extra to get rid of it.

Today I'm making benechin for dinner today it's like a paella but an African version, I've got some leftover veg and meats and this is why I love this dish because anything leftover gets chucked in and it's filling.
I make it all in the microwave as I'm a rice burner when it's done on the hob lol.
Hubby has weighed in his gold bracelet which he loves and has said a house is more important and is putting straight into the savings account bless him.
He is also selling his bike this weekend so that's another £1k which will clear his credit card and transfer £600 to the savings account.
Regarding mine I really don't want to tell him as he is so happy money is going into the pot. I do all the online banking so every month I'm going to transfer what I can to get rid of, their is £345 left to pay.
I'm really hoping we do not have to worry about Xmas and won't spend any extra after the standing order to our spare account should have £240 in there, and I'm sure this is plenty and I'm going to make a list in October and I'm sticking to it.
Today I am going to ....
List some clothing items books and baby things on eBay to get rid of it and make some £.
Do plenty of cleaning and laundry I need to get done
Ring natwest about ds1s account as I want to transfer it to another bank.
Make sure ds has everything he needs for school next week and label.

I'm trying to challenge myself to not spend any unnecessary money only on things needed such as
Milk, bread and genuinely ran out things.

I'm enjoying keeping my own diary as its making me feel more motivated.

  • Morning anyone who is following this?
So hubby has put the money in our savings account and tomorrow he is selling his bike that's £1.6k in the pot, we are also waiting for money we lent to a family member which is £2k hopefully we get this back in the next couple of months.
We need around £5k + within the next 5 months and I know this is going to be achieved. So really happy things are going to plan so far.

Ds2's baby grows turned up yesterday afternoon, I bought a bundle off 8 on eBay for £6 which should keep him going abit longer as well as a snow suit ready for winter £5 so I have made some savings.

I will be going through his clothes that no longer fit and get them washed over the weekend and get them listed on eBay, so the money I have spent will have paid for his new things.

I've got a few things to post and apply at the dentist for us to become new patients, not been for over a year and need to get it sorted ASAP.

I've decided to treat hubby for our anniversary of a month of marriage to a homemade tikka masala n check if their is any new films on sky anytime and chill out. We can't afford to go out but sometimes 9/10 we prefer to chill at home after the kids have gone to bed :)

I'm hoping my new nail lamp turns up today, dh bought it for me as a wedding present as I used to spend £35 a month just on nails !!!!!!.......it's cost tht for a kit to do my own. :money:
I have already had people ask if I could do theirs when I'm confident.
Fingers crossed ? One day if I'm any good I can do this from home or mobile already been asked by my sister to do hers and friends nails for prom next year :T

I really want to work for and work around my family so let's see? Next year I could be running my own little business.

  • So last nights curry was a hit, mil and her partner came round and had some too and we picked a film.

I also had ago at doing my own 3d nails with glitter n gems....I don't think I did too bad and saving myself £30 doing them myself. :money:

    I'm really pleased.

Another expense was eyebrow waxing at £7 a month, il just pluck my own....what's the point in wasting £37 a month for something I can do myself or go without (however you look at it), but I feel loads better when I do have them done.

When asking my nail technician and waxer they both said if they had to pay for their treatments they wouldn't have them done......that's what made me think.:D

Registered at new dentist yesterday and posted driving licence off to change to married name....cost £5 to send special delivery!!!!! I don't want them to loose the certificate as we only have one copy.

I've sold most of our wedding things on yesterday so really chuffed :T

    Today il be.....

    Cleaning
    Washing
    Vacuum
    Declutter kids bedroom.

  • Feeling abit depressed today, ds1 went back to school today but ds2 had me up n down like a yoyo. We currently live in a flat and upsairs stomp about n slam doors I had ago one day as she decided at 12am coming in with her boyfriend it was funny to chase each other round the flat and wake ds2 up and me and hubs and basically told us to deal with it.
This is why in the next six months we are trying so hard to save.....so we can get the hell out of here, I'm doing my best to put up with it.
I've tried today to get my head down for a few hours but can't as she is playing her music laughing and joking grrrr.
I know she can do as she pleases as can we, but I do my best not to p her off.
Today in 2 years was the first time I've had a panic attack as I'm so tired n stressed but trying to get myself together and stay focussed on my diary/saving and get our family out of here :)

    Trying to stay positive.

  • You are doing very well. I don't have kids but I also live with constant battle of trying not to spend unless really necessary.

I really feel for you re the flat. I live in a top floor flat and I try to be as courteous as possible in the flat to ensure I dont disturb downstairs neighbour. However, BF is another matter, he is a stomper (walks on his heels)! He comes in from work at about 12am and his stomping wakes me up as he runs up the stairs before he is through the door. I used to tell him to feel for our neighbours but after 6-7 months of nagging, other things take over, like untidiness, etc. He actually dismissed a flat on the ground floor because he was worried there might be a stomper upstairs.
  • Lol, I know we could be noisy at times but with a baby it's hard, but they do not help when the slam doors at 1 or 2 in the morning.
This is every night but I'm trying to get on with it and think of the target ahead xx

Got lots sorted looking back so I'm chuffed with my achievements.
We are having friends round on Saturday and looking forward to making a homemade curry and of cause it's ms lol :money:

  • I've not posted for a couple of days because it's been hectic.
Ds2 is teething and has had us up all hours.
But I have today registered for family first and got some calpol as we ran out so it came in handy to register because it's free, and I bought him some teeing powder which will hopefully work :)
We went shopping the other day and got everything we need including our wine for our dinner with friends tomorrow I'm cooking a curry from scratch, and I've looked up a chocolate cake which is egg free as I have none and if I can make it without I will do....so fingers crossed.
Today I've washed all bedding and walked into town with dh to save on petrol and enjoy the sun, we had a carton of juice each only 29p so we didn't splash out like we normally do and go for half a pint lol
