hello everyone my phones contracts up for renew with vodafone next month it was a 24 months contract i didnt take the upgrade early option as im considering going elsewhere

vodafone have been rubbish in the 24 months as my phone kept giving me problems and they were no help at all ive been with them since 1998.

so ive been looking on mobiles.co.uk and there got some great deals but one of the phones i like is with vodafone if you take a contract out with them is it classed as an upgrade or a new contract ?.
they have a deal where you get a 11 months half price i dont understand how that works if someone can explain thanks.

Well, yes. If OP is going to be a regular contributor on here then it is better to know that he will get more replies to his posts if he abides by basic layout.

Actually, the main question he asked, deep in that unpunctuated post was nothing to do with how good mobiles.co.uk were.

    What he actually asked was
    (a) if you take a contract out with them is it classed as an upgrade or a new contract and

    (b) Also they have a deal where you get a 11 months half price. I dont understand how that works. If someone can explain. Thanks.

I read your post as trying to be helpful to him, but you didn't answer the first, most important question, presumably because you too missed it.

Steve - to answer the first. They offer both upgrades and new contracts with the better deals being available on the new deals. However, beware. The deals involve redemption which is explained on their web site, but you need to follow the instructions very carefully and with an eye to the detail.

If you are seriously wanting some help, then there are quite a few people on here who are every experienced with that company and with redemption deals. You are most likely to get help if you are clearer about the deal you want, whether or not you need to retain your mobile number, and, above all, take some time and care to lay out your posts in a way that encourages, rather than switches off, people to help you.
  • thanks ive fixed my original post hope its better understanding now

You need to distinguish between 'monthly cost' column which is what you'll actually be invoiced and pay to Vodafone or whoever each month, as opposed to the 'effective cost' which is the average monthly cost taking into account cashback or any free months etc, and presuming you claim correctly.
On mobiles.co.uk website, on the left hand column under 'useful links' take a careful read of the 'cashback' section. I'd work on the premise that the cashback is a bonus - make sure the contract is a good deal and affordable to you without the cash back, in case the company does go t1ts up - remember you'll have no claim against Vodafone - this incentive is being provided by mobiles.co.uk
