Horrendous cruelty

There seem to be more and more awful animal stories and it's not always "kids" that carry out the terrible acts.

I just do not know how anyone could harm any animal and the punishment if they are caught should be severe.

What a sickening crime.

I really struggle with the fact that the maximum sentance is less than 12 months.

Do we really think that in that short a time span you can go from setting a defenceless animal on fire to a law abiding citizen?

Probably a good thing that they were arrested as the would be a good chance they'd get either a punishment shooting or beating by the paramilitaries.

That wouldn't help though. They could have been brought up getting beatings.

I just feel that we jail them and do nothing to alter their behaviour.

They will be out in 6 months to harm someone/thing again

I dont want to see the pics - I remember seeing next doors cat 'Ginge' after some psycopath did this to him. I had nightmares for ages. Even the police officer who took neighbours complaint was upset. Turned out to be a young lad who thought it was funny - but his friends all told on him! I hope that whoever did this is caught - because they go on to do worse.
