Horrendous cruelty

Yet again a barbaric act is committed against a defenceless, trusting animal. This time it's in N.Ireland where a collie dog was sprayed with lighter fuel and set on fire. The culprits are suspected to be "kids". They have brought shame on us here in N.Ireland. And that poor dog, OMG how dreadful.

There is a page open on FaceBook - look for "Justice for Cody" though there are some graphic photographs of her. She is a beautiful blue-eyed Collie. It looks like she will pull through but her burns are horrific.
Why don't some "kids" care about how much pain they cause animals? I truly do not understand. Even here in a supposedly nice area some pre-teenage brats have threatened to kill my cats - they are all indoor cats now as I can't say for sure that that was an empty threat and will not risk their lives.

The "kids" and their parents .... need to have the word "FERAL" tattooed on their foreheads for life. I'd sterlise them all too.0

Doesn't suprise me that the lowlife scum did this,at ASSISI every now & again a case comes in that's so horrific it makes you ashamed to breath the same air as these scum.
Look at Kimmie the kitten that came into ASSISI,Sexually assaulted, other kittens found at the side of the road in a carrier bag,a puppy the other week rescued from the Lagan after being tossed in with other pups.0 -

That's going too easy on them. I know what I'd like to do to the little b*stards and the scum that spawned them, and it wouldn't be done quickly either.0 -
Words fail me, poor dog. I really do hope that Cody gets better. The scum that did this are sick0

Little monsters. What makes me laugh is that they are called "animals"...!0

I can't stop thinking of this poor dog - it is heartbreaking. How can anyone be so evil to a defenceless animal especially someones family pet. I hope the dog pulls through and makes a full recovery.
There is a donation page to donate towards Cody vets bills (current donations £2,300) but it is not Cody's owners paypal account so unsure how safe it is - how do we know the donations will be given to Cody's owners.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
Update from PSNI Lisburn;** Cody Update **
A 21 Year old man has this morning been arrested on suspicion of Animal Cruelty. He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The arrest is in connection with the report of a dog being doused in a flammable liquid and set alight in the Maghaberry Road area of Lisburn on Sunday 26th August.
Police would like to thank all those who have so far helped with the investigation, and would urge anyone else with information to contact us on 0845 600 8000.
I really hope whoever did this suffers a lot while he's in jail...0 -
Just a shame that if this is the lowlife scum who carried out the cruelty he probably won't get the punishment he deserves. Hopefully the judge / jury are animal lovers!
Hows the dog?0 -
