Have you been told by your LEA that the assessment will switch between your parents or are you just assuming this?0

I think you should apply then if you are not entitled to the full amount then you can apply to the uni's hardship or acess to learning fund, if all else fails then you would prob have to get a part time job and make some payment from that.0

I know a year or two back a girl successfully claimed ongoing maintenance from her father for University. However I believe that was the kind of situation where her parents were divorced, she'd been living with her mum and her dad thought he could stop maintenance at 18.Signature removed for peace of mind0

At the risk of repeating myself, your financial assessment is based on the parent you NORMALLY live with. If this has been your father up until now then it doesn't matter that you no longer live with him. Whether you've moved in with your mother, into halls or a flat is irrelevent; if he was the parent you normally lived with at the start of the course, he remains so.

If you look at the change of circumstances for returning students, you'll see that you are not asked about a situation such as yours; it doesn't come into the calculation. It doesn't matter where you actually live, it's the parent you normally live with whose income you're assessed on.0 -
so in thoery because when I started the course I was living with my dad, then even when I move in with my mom in two months time, I will still be assessed the same as when I was living with my dad.0

If he's the parent you normally live with - yes.0
