*Updated again* Advice on adopting a very shy, little kitten! *Updated with pics*

My sister in law adopted a nervous kitten from the RSPCA. I think her mum was feral. She started off very nervous, so they kept her in one room with her carry-box so she felt safe. I think it was quite a while before she felt safe outside her own room. I think it took a few months, but now she's a really happy affectionate cat. They now have a toddler, and she's great with her, and loves attention

She's so sweet! We had 2 rescue kittens, both were terrified. We decided to have both as they'd been together for a few weeks. One settled quickly, although she's still a little jumpy. The other took over a year to come to us. Patience paid off though and she would come to us for cuddles and strokes. Sadly she died last month, after 9 years, but we were worried as we were having to move and that would have been so traumatic for her. God works in mysterious ways as she was spared the pain of moving as she died just before we started to pack. Miss her every day though, even though we still have 3 others!
Enjoy your new little one!0 -
I had to post another photo of Bella. This came quite out of the blue this evening and she stayed sat there for 20 minutes or so. Hopefully this is a sign that she's becoming more comfortable with us.

Utterly gorgeous little girl, and I am sure she will relax in no time at all.
Have you thought of getting a Feliway or Pet Remedy plug in to spread relaxing smells into the room for her?0 -
She is so lovely and looks so contented in that picture
When I first got Mittens he was terrified and used to flinch and cower if you so much as looked at him. But cats do adapt easily, and it sounds as if Bella is well on the way now. Sometimes the most nervous cats to begin with end up being the most devoted and trusting
