    Morning all!

Hope everyone is well, I must try and post more often on here.

Up early today, which I'm glad about, had the worlds worst hangover ever yesterday, didn't move from the sofa ALL day!!

Pup is staying with me this weekend, so we're going for a long walk later, before handing back over to ex.

The past few weeks I've been hangout with a guy who was introduced to me by one of my best friends, which has been fun, new company is exciting!

OS wise, got some washing that needs hung up to dry, could do with vacuuming, but will wait till pup's gone, and that's about it! House is so tidy now it's just me!

I need to bake for a coffee morning my friend is doing, so might test run a couple of muffin recipes for the occasion.

BB - loved your wildlife park photos on FB - looks like it was a good day :)

    RosyRed - Happy Birthday!!

    Have a lovely day all

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Sunny and bright here this morning.

Cooked a loin of pork yesterday, was really delicious, did roast pots, mash pots, carrots, HG green beans, broccolli, peas, yorkshires and gravy - first time for several weeks we've had a proper roast and was enjoyed by everyone, ice-creams to follow for those that had room. Remembered to get the meat out of the freezer to defrost as we will hopefully! bbq it later, we'll have new pots and salad with it. If it rains, I'll cook the meat indoors.

Have had a couple of really productive days, managed to get DS1's bed taken to pieces and new bed in situ, he says new bed is soo comfy, now trying to get DS2's room cleared so we can take his bed down and get rid of. I did several trips to the recycling centre yesterday and think more will be planned today. DS1 and DH have already gone to collect DS2's bed and are moving a bed for my parents whilst DH has a van and some spare time!

Have a load in the WM hoping weather holds so I can get it out on the line, it's supposed to rain here later!

Back to work tomorrow, not looking forward to it as we're really short staffed as we've been cut to the bone staff-wise and people are, of course, away on hols and one colleague has left and another should have been back from a secondment but her secondment has been extended, I'm doing an extra day on my days off to help out in a couple of weeks, but they've had practically no volunteers so we're really in the cart and will be interesting to see how they are going to sort this one! We have some days where we only have 3 people available in the office - there's no way we can run like that!

Have a good day, stay safe and well x

    rosyred happy birthday
esmf i can't get enough of your campervan pics :D
flutterby glad you had a good night

    Morning all.
More decluttering/cleaning/work today. Doing a mahoosive gammon joint with mum and need to do something with the first pick of plums. There's only enough for 2-3 jars of jam and don't want to be making cake so I'm stumped! The freezer is a two shelf table top one with no room for crumble base etc.

  • Good morning all,
Happy bithday RosyRed , hope you have a good day.
    FB, glad you enjoyed steps.
Tru, i think think they look very nice.
Bright here today with a nice breeze. The washing is blowing nicely on the line so it should dry ok. I have another load in the wm. Did a hoover round last night, saves doing it today and disturbing hubbby.
Hubby is in bed as he has work tonight. Girls are still in bed. It is just so quiet.
I plan to pick blackberries today for the freezer. I haven't been on what i call "the blackberry walk" for a couple of weeks. It's a 3 mile walk where i take Jasper and the sides of the road are just laden with blackberry bushes. They were very small then but not black. We will see.
Tea tonight is leftover chicken from yesterday with potatoes and salad. If there is any left after that i'll pop it in the freezer. I can do that can't i? It wouldn't be in gravy.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Tru I think they look rather fab and I may have to borrow your idea for my jams/ jellies/ pickles

Adelight why not try plum vodka or brandy for Christmas presents? This is the recipe I use:

Fill a large glass jar, one third full of plums (about 500gm, 1 lb) opened up but including pits. Pour in sugar so that it is about 5 cm (2 inches) above the plum level. Add 70 cl of spirit (vodka, gin, or cheap brandy) depending on what you want. Leave it for about 3 months shaking occasionally in a cool dark place. Strain and put into pretty bottles, seal and label. Voila!

Well my excitement at winning 2 Firsts & 3 Thirds at our Allotments show has almost worn off so it's back to weeding in the rain for me today! I also need to tidy up the tomatoes in the greenhouse and check on the chilli & pepper plants.

DH has gone off to the North East for work (on a Bank Holiday :() so I'm on my own until tomorrow night.....cue lots of dross on TV tonight ;)

I also want to have another sort out of my clothes while I've got the house to myself - I have lot of things that have not been worn for quite a while so am going to be ruthless - well that's what I'm planning anyway :p

WM is on, clothes on the airer need ironing (as does the big pile behind the door in the study :o) and I've got a choice of leftovers for tea, plus some lamb fillet that is marinating in Moroccan spices, to be cooked and eaten with cous-cous & H/G cucumber for my lunches in work this week

Have a good day everyone - despite the weather!

    Morning all,

BB you could use a sc for frozen brisket, but I think it would take forever, might be ready sometime tomorrow :D sorry to hear about you and hubby xx

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Rosyred, have a fab day xxxx

We got up late here, so rushing round a bit, more diy today, another 2 coats on the window and radiator, then we can start on the floor, cant wait to get back to normal, getting tired of the mess.

Need to nip to the shop up the road for cheese and crisps, hm pizza for dinner tonight.

    Have good days all xx
  • Tru - I like the labels too!
    BB - (((((hugs))))))

I decided to freeze the blackberries as I don't have any custard in, and can't have crumble without custard! I don't want to go food shopping this week if I can avoid it.

  • cake-076.gif Happy Birthday Rosyred, I hope you have a lovely day.
We had a really good time at BIL's barbecue, it was so nice because all of the family were there. The weather was slightly cloudy but the rain held off which was a blessing :)
Today is a chill out day DH is back at work tomorrow so I said he can have a lazy day, I am not doing a roast or anything which is strange for me, I think I will just do a buffet where everyone can help themselves to what they want. TV won't be going on, because it is dire considering it is a bank holiday.

Glad you had a good evening FB
    Woohoo Bramble enjoy yourself ;)

Oh well must go and wash up the breakfast things, my fairies seem to have taken the BH off :p
