Unfortunately with me this would equate to never opening a letter. I have no real curiousity and have the natural assumption that letters contain bills, hospital appointments or junk mail. None of which interest me!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm totally going to listen to that programme Igamogam, of course I probably already know it all in theory - it's putting it into action that's the hard part!
I like the sound of that about the post Shrimpy, but like Dinah all that would mean for me is I'd have a pile of unopened bank statements rather than a pile of bank statementsWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

It was more theory rather than a how not to programme.......but I am slowly realising why I procrastinate and I may well follow up some the research............I am a bit of a sucker for academic research;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Ok - a to-do list: contact the unis you'd like to apply to and see if they're having open days. One of mine is on the 19th, it's a bit of a pain as I have to travel over 100 miles to get there for 90 minutes of informal presentations etc, but hopefully it'll be worth it!0

Good morning! Brr, it's like winter isn't it, pouring down outside, all the lights on, tights and boots?shrimpy_80 wrote: »I'm dreadful in the mornings, but I counter it now by talking to myself to keep me focused, sort of, "make-up, teeth, lunch, go" and repeating it until I've done them so I keep focused. I know that makes me sound a bit mental but it does work!
I tried this this morning and I was out of the house within an hour of my alarm going off! As I have to wash and dry my (long) hair every day this is pretty much unheard of, although when I start the 30DS I'll have to get up a bit earlier. The radio 4 programme yesterday was very interesting and made perfect sense to me - I too am a procrastinator and have decided to take it one tree (or branch - listen to programme:)) at a time
I just listened to this this morning - so interesting! Although there were a few references to not being able to depend on procrastinators to do anything - I don't think I'm like that. I leave things to the last minute and get myself in a tizz but if it's for someone else I get it done. It's when something's for me that it goes by the wayside.
I was really interested in the idea that procrastination is a form of self-sabotage borne out of fear or a lack of entitlement - I think this is me all over. If I apply for that job/go on that date/whatever, what am I scared of, that they might actually like me and I'll have to follow it up with something? (I honestly think that's what the fear is for me rather than fear of rejection). But I loved what Aristotle (get me!) said: "You're attacking a future version of you" - I think visualising where I want to be this time next week/year/decade might be really helpful in kicking me up the bum NOW.
I also love the tree/branch/leaves analogy - even if you can't cut down the tree, just saw off a branch or grab a handful of leaves, whatever, just do it NOW. Very interesting - thanks for the link Igamogam!Ok - a to-do list: contact the unis you'd like to apply to and see if they're having open days. Ah I have a head start on this - I have done this already and the ones I'm looking at are late-Sept/early-Oct. But what I do need to do is have a look at the course comparison tool on the GTTR site to see how many places there are on the course, how mnay 2:2 applicants they actually accept and so on to narrow down my options a bit.
I didn't update last night because the broadband wasn't working when I got in. Quite annoying as I was wanting to send off a few more emails and do internet research. But anyway.
Health - Managed to hit my calorie goal on the nose which was weird, even managed to fit in 3 Maltesers which was niceNot feeling particularly thin yet though, just hungry
Wealth - Had a NSD, and, ummm, I've got my roll-on deodorant stood on its end in a bowl of beaded necklaces to ensure I don't waste any. I guess not every day will be a massive money-making day eh?
Happiness - Was slightly scuppered on this one by the internet not working, but I did print off a load of info from the lovely Kitti during the day and had a little read over that. Then got in a panic and went to bed!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Morning Tete
For the health goal - would you consider something other than calorie counting? Just that feeling hungry is the worst and I have found the Harcombe diet so good for avoiding that.Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Don't panic Miss Tete en l'Air (said in the style of Dad's Army), it's all good. I panicked when I first started looking at those concept documents I sent you, but when I sat down and skim-read them, realised that actually they make sense, it's just flowery language. As language graduates rather than science/maths ones, we're more used to it
Why use a bullet point list or 2 words when a whole paragraph will do
I've left a message for the admissions officer of the second university I want to apply to asking for their open day date if they have one, and have 'booked in' to the first uni's one.
Thanks for the tip about the comparison tool on the GTTR site, could you please post a link to the relevant page as I can't find it and guess I ought to base my application on more than geographical needs as they might not like 2:2s at my preferred places, which would scupper my plans!
I've been exchanging lovely emails with the Latin tutor and am really exciting about the training day in November, just got to brush up a bit on my Latin before then.....
I've got a very quiet and uneventful weekend planned as OH's son is going to visit him from Friday to Sunday, so I aim to be regimented with my time, as I am also DD-freeuntil Monday and get a mixture of decluttering, Latin, chilling out and doing little DIY jobs that I can manage around the house.........I'll probably end up finding another single mum friend who is also child-free and going on a pub crawl, but at the moment, peace and tranquility are the plans
