Aw Tink, I don't feel particularly inspirational but thank you!

Quick roundup as I want to get an early night, I was up half of last night as there were two mosquitoes in my room

Health - I didn't eat the crisps! And have stayed within my calorie goal, and drunk loads of water. I've also done the exercises the physio recommended for my running injuries (weak ankles and bad hip).

Wealth - I cancelled my gym membership at work seeing as I won't be able to use the facilities after we move. So that'll save me a whopping £9.17 a month. I also returned a handbag which I bought for a wedding the other weekend but didn't match, so I've added that £10 to my savings total. Also just got my washing out of the machine and managed to salvage a fiver that was folded up in one of the pockets, so I guess that's a saving too?

Happiness - Hm. Not an awful lot. I'm going to get out my notebook now and jot a few things down, make sense of what needs doing and in what timescale...

Just looked up and there are about 20 mosquitoes outside my bedroom window trying to get in - it's as thought they can smell me _pale_

I like your diary style :D

Good luck on your journey sometimes it takes a while for us to realise what our career path should be and you are young enough to have a long teaching career too. My DD is 25 has only just realised her calling after dabbling with college a few times in the past, she committed this time and has passed her college course with 32 distinctions and is off to uni to study chemistry and toxicology. So making the right decision at the right time is what its all about i guess......

I am still thinking about what i might do when i grow up :rotfl: I currently work in social services and moan about social workers no end so hope i dont have an epiphany and want to be one

Hi Tete! Lovely new diary! :)

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I read that you want to train to be a teacher, that came out of nowhere! BUT it makes so much sense now. :)

I really think you should meet Dinah's friend too, he sounds lovely. ;)

I'm also waiting for a crochet owl to arrive in my post box any day now... *taps foot impatiently* ;)

Haha, I know - I feel such a twit! I've only told two v close people at work what my plans are (because why should I give my bosses more than my bare minimum 4 weeks' notice when they obviously care so little about me?) so it'll be funny to see my (main) colleague's face when I tell him because all we do is moan. But honestly - the amount of emails I get and have to respond with "I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you're asking me...?" because they're so badly written and constructed is unreal. You now have to do a numeracy and literacy test as part of the application process and too bloody right!

Kitti - yes, last night they WERE all the other side of the window so I've had a fabulous night's sleep! :) Thank you so much for your email, that PGCE guide looks amazing - all I've seen so far is snippets as it was coming off the printer but I can't wait to get stuck in later.

Hi Birdie, lovely to see you! I KNOW about the owl but you know how slow I am at everything! :o

Speaking of which. I was almost ready to set off for work at 7.30 this morning, just had to brush my teeth and put on my shoes and a bit of make-up, and yet it was after 8.00 by the time I actually left the house - I could have been at work by then! I have no idea what I did in that time either, I'm such a procrastinator and really need to address this if I'm going to get anywhere with my plans in the next couple of years. Anyone got any tips with this???

ON that note, I'm turning off the internet and my emails and I'm going to get on with what I need to do this morning... :D

As the world's worst procrastinator my very useless advice is be the opposite of me and you'll be fine :D

Seriously though, I've found recently that lists are helpiing me. But rather than just the usual such as 'must do this' I find I'm getting on a lot quicker with things when I break the list down into more detailed steps of how to get to completing each thing if that makes sense? Probably not and just makes me sound weird! :o

And sadly some fail - even those with stellar A levels:eek:

The radio 4 programme yesterday was very interesting and made perfect sense to me - I too am a procrastinator and have decided to take it one tree ( or branch - listen to programme:)) at a time

I did a time management course at work - and it was a fairly major waste of time :rotfl: It was more about how to tell people you couldn't do things for them because you were too busy - as if that was an option! I'm dreadful in the mornings, but I counter it now by talking to myself to keep me focused, sort of, "make-up, teeth, lunch, go" and repeating it until I've done them so I keep focused. I know that makes me sound a bit mental but it does work! And of course being organised the night before but I'm still a bit hit and miss with that one. I am so easily distracted and am trying just to generally concentrate more on what I'm doing rather than walking round in a dream world!

Also, I can't remember where I've read it but I am also trying the advice about only handling each piece of post once, so I don't let myself open a letter unless I know I'm going to deal with it there and then. Being super curious, this is working quite well so far :)
