    Naff Malchish don't you mean.

Anyway, to the original OP, I would restore it back to factory settings (There are 3 ways on a Packard Bell/Acer system) you can either tap F8 as soon as you turn on the system and select "Repair Computer" and then use the Packard Bell Recovery Manager or as soon as you turn on the system press Alt + F10 at the same time to enter the Packard Bell Recovery Manager.

Heres a Packard Bell Recovery Link

Doing a system restore back to factory settings rules out software or hardware. If it works fine then it's just a software conflict/issue and the restore has fixed it, or if it still happens it's a physical hardware fault and needs to be exchanged as it's well within it's Reasonable Timeframe to inspect and reject.
  • Coming from my long and dark past of laptop repair, it sounds like hardware to me.

I am here instore, they are insisting that they have to see the fault and its just not happening here in store. I tried going down the Soga' Ive told them that I am rejecting it and they wont accept it, they say they have to see the fault. Its just very frustrating. They say if they cant see the fault I;m stuck with it.

Where am I to go from here please.

If you can't demonstrate the fault then as far as the retailer is concerned there is no fault, it's a shame they won't take you at your word but that's Comet for you.
  • Make sure that they take a record of your visit, and tell them that if you are required to return to the store again to return the faulty laptop, you will expect them to cover all of the costs incurred (as required by the SOGA)

You said that you have had the laptop two days in that time have you installed your antivirus software? malware can find it's way into any computer as soon as it's connected to the internet.

Also with your computer being so new you will have Microsoft and other software downloading updates and that can also cause a mouse to intermittently stall now and again.

Well, Ive brought it home again to see how it goes.

The fault wouldnt reappear and at this moment Im installing updates.
I was beginning to lose the will to live so I just gave up in the end.
I'll just see how it goes.

No, I hadnt installed anything apart from the free 60 day Norton trial.

Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciated.
