Oh, and just to REALLY take the biscuit - - - both my mum (70's) and my youngest daughter were woken between 2 - 2:30a.m. with texts arriving - - - which had been SENT mid-afternoon!

I am also looking for an alternative after the fiasco on Fri/Sat I have a business to run and can't be having that carry on - and this is about the 4th time I've come across issues coupled with the fact my phone drifts in and out of signal constantly giving me a 'call failed' display in the middle of very important phone calls!!! Not good for business - think I may have to switch to contract which I didn't want to do :(

Go on a 1 month sim only, it's nearly as flexible as PAYG and better value.

You can have 1200 minutes from Virgin Mobile for £12 per month.

That sounds good to me, do you get a text allowance? Currently on GG I get 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data for £10 per month...

I *think* you need to be a Virgin Media customer to get these deals at these prices?

    edit: Nope, I'm wrong. apologies.

Use talkmobile essentials PAYG. I only spend a few quid a month- can't be doing with these pricy £10 per month deals!

Texts are 4p, calls 8p a minute. Internet's 25p per day. so use wifi where you can. Cheaper if connecting to other talkmobile customers.

On vodafone network, so I'm using my Huawei G300 ascend on it without inlocking it.

Just called into my local virgin media store this morning and was told this deal ends today (not too sure if this will be the case) but took out the deal anyway as I didn't really want to miss out.
Just a heads up for anyone else looking @ this deal

ASDA Mobile is a great alternative to giffgaff. Their bundles are pretty good, and the few friends I have that use it always say good things about it. http://www.asdamobile.com/index.aspx
