OS Daily Thread Sunday 26th August

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 26th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been awake since 5 & in the end gave up trying to sleep & got up.
I have yet more ironing to do as I managed to get my washing dry between the showers.
I may go on a hunt for a tomato chutney recipe as I am over run with tomatoes, despite eating loads of them every day.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester x
I too am awake as DD gone to work and DS needs a lift in a few minutes:cool:
Not sure of my plans atm but cooking a family meal later to celebrate youngest sons gcse results:T:T:T
Hugs for a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good morning Hester, Molly and to all who cross/follow,
Dull, windy and chilly here at the moment. If the weather stays like this then my Mum and Dad are in for a shock when they get back from Spain today. They have been enjoying hot temperatures over there.
I am just finishing my coffee and then i am going shopping. Our tesco at the moment are open from 6 on a sunday, just while the children are on holiday from school.
No real plans as yet. It will just be the usual housework and baking for me.
Dinner tonight will be chicken with potatoes and veg.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning :hello:
Donnygal congratulations to your son and his girlfriend :j
The patio is finished :T We asked him to leave a gap next to the fence - when it rains the water runs down the steps at the side of the house and collects there - he's sloped it a bit and we're going to fill it with stones.
I'd just finished the chicken shed yesterday when it started raining, it hammered down and there was lots of thunder. No lightening thoughI love a good storm.
Mr tru is off to Weston today. He arranged for a few of us to go. By 'us' I mean he asked his mates and they all said yes on behalf of themselves and wives/girlfriends. When he told me, I informed him that much as I like Weston, I don't want to go with everyone else. He got all huffyAs it turned out, most of the other women said the same :rotfl:
Pics of spice jars will be available as soon as possIt's just occurred to me that as I have an inkjet printer, not a laser one, if the labels get dirty I won't be able to wipe them clean. Well I will but they'll smudge. So I'll have to laminate them.

Tonight I am going to see Stepsit's an outdoor gig so praying it stays dry! Gates open at 4pm, and acts on from 5pm, but the only act we want to see is Steps so not heading down til around 7pm I think. I'm so excited!! Loved them in my teens.
No plans for rest of the day. I should really do some college work as we start back in 3 weeks, and every weekend between now and then is full. I will go blackberry picking this morning, and may go for a walk by the sea later, or may just sit in the garden with my Kindle.
OS wise - WM is on now with towels, and will go on again with clothes, need to hoover, dishes put away, pasta with HM sauce for lunch.
Have a fab day all

Good Morning All
Lovely sunshine here but much cooler, yesterday was torrential rain - we had made the decision early not to do the boot sale thankfully.
As today is meant to be the only dry day of the weekend we have changed our plans and are having a family day out. So won't be too much OS going on round here today.
