Why did you choose the course in the first place?
Why not the 4 years course with industry placements?
Did you try to get a industry based/sponsered final year project
Perhaps think about the type of business that may be of interest or maybe a product type that involves software the might open up opportinities on the software development side, quality, process or even marketing
UEA has a reputation for forward business thinking should have have been a great platform to get into a career.
Are you networking with those that have got jobs from your year and the other years around you, got a linkedin profile etc.
Have you always been Norfolk based?
Perhaps you need to look further away there are not a lot of opportunities in the area.
I did the course because I previous did an HND in Computing and wanted to do the 1 and a half year top up to BSc. I wasn't ready for work and wanted to continue my education which I did. I was hoping it would help me when I apply for jobs.
I'm not networking with people of my year, but from a few people I know, their careers have nothing to do with the course we did together. The course was actually studied at City College Norwich but it says on the certificate "UEA".
I didn't try to get an industry placement, I didn't even think about that to be honest.0 -

That limits their ability to attract people with the right skills/potential.

IT people will go as far as Cambridge but don't like going as far as Norwich because job prospects are not good so you end up having to move back if you lose your job and not so many chances for career progression.
I got out 30 years ago, even though we still have a house and family there and visit for holidays never saw decent technical IT job that paid suitable money any time I looked.
Nice place to go to pasture in the latter years of a career.0 -

Mate, people work where there is a need for them, every town in this country has people working in IT, we are talking about IT here not a brain surgeon.
I'm guessing you live in or around London, I best not tell you I live in the North, as we don't have internet here I have to travel 300 miles to the South to get a connection

I attended the interview, and the interviewer said I came across well and showed confidence. Unfortunately, I was told yesterday that I was not successful as another candiate that was interview had more relevant experience than myself.
